A New Year's Eve Wedding

Kendall and Dave wanted celebrate their marriage and ring in the new year surrounded by friends and family. They chose  Ramekins Culinary School, in Sonoma, CA as their venue. Combining sparkly glam with natural elements to reflect wine country, the atmosphere was festive and romantic.

Our 1st Workshop!

We were honored and excited to host our first workshop in our new space at The Barlow! We had a fun evening playing with flowers and making new friends. We really believe everyone is capable of design work, and this evening proved it. It's really about recognizing and manipulating patterns, color, and texture while being comfortable enough to allow that expression to come through. We all are observing this daily in nature, whether we are aware of it or not! With the amazing product all grown locally and provided by the Sonoma Flower Mart, it's hard to go wrong. We are glad to provide a place to relax, get comfortable, and let creativity's light shine. Special thanks to guest designer Olivia Rivas of Papillion Floral Design, and to our participants who joined in and created something beautiful to share and take home.

Transforming new space....

It's official! We're growing, and we've found a new home at The Barlow in Sebastopol right near Reframe Hair Gallery and Taylor Maid Farms (awesome neighbors, right?) We're getting the space ready and will be open sometime in April. Thanks to Patton Painting for transforming the whole zone with a new shade of paint. The difference is like night & day.

The Sonoma Flower Mart will also be in this new location (a personal dream come true) featuring flowers & foliage sourced from our local flower farms, along with products sourced in greater California. Follow us on  Facebook for updates, and we'll be on Twitter @socoflowermart once I get into the habit of using it, haha.

None of this would be possible without new business partner, Kathrin Green arriving on the scene. Kathy began floral studies with floral designer Sarah Hayes in Worcester, England and at the Judith Blacklock School of Floral Arts in London. She and her husband have recently relocated here from England, and I am beyond thrilled to have her join California Sister.

We had a little Valentines' day pop up in front of our new digs, and would like to thank everyone who came by. Temperatures pushed 80 and it was a gorgeous day.

Our friends & neighbors at  The Passdoor brought us some vases to play with...
